He left a note on the door: “I’m killing myself, the key is with Claude Fonsale, the lawyer.” Beside his corpse was a second note, railing against “all the bastards who have been a pain in the arse all my bloody life”. Molinier staged his death, just as he staged so much of his life. He found it amusing, he once wrote, that those who would come to dissect his corpse (which he had donated to science) would discover his toenails immaculately painted red. Molinier, who also had a thing about guns, shot himself in the mouth in front of a mirror. He wanted to watch. Throughout his work there is a quest for obliteration, losing himself in sex and in the merger with a fantasised feminine alter ego.

High-heeled, corseted, impaled, auto-fellating ... Molinier’s fantasy photographs open a window on a forbidden world – and have made him a cult figure. Do not try this at home

Disturbing, not pleasing, should be art’s role

Belgian festival director and curator Frie Leysen challenged Australian artists and arts organisations to be bold, and to challenge an increasingly ossified status quo in her closing keynote address at the 2015 Australian Theatre Forum(ATF).
‘We created a culture of “pleasing” that is now hijacking us,’ she said. ‘We want to please everybody: the audiences, the subscribers, the sponsors, the press, the colleagues… a big mistake!
‘Art should not please. On the contrary. Art has to show where it hurts in our societies, in our world. We urgently need the courage back to pick up this role of disturbers again.’

FBI Joining 'Long Island Serial Killer' Investigation

Sini's announcement of the FBI involvement comes one day after the department's former chief, James Burke, was indicted on federal charges that he beat a man suspected of stealing items from the officer's SUV, and then conspired with other officers to cover it up. Burke, who resigned as chief in October amid the federal investigation, has pleaded not guilty.

The confessed larcenist’s illicit haul included a duffel bag containing some of Burke’s property, including handguns, ammunition, mace, and what Loeb described as a stash of “nasty porn” and “sex toys.”
